The caves of Stiffe

The caves are made-up of a series of karstica caves located in the town of Stiffe in the Province of Aquila. This complex is defined as an outset or more "the point where the river returns to light after an underground section".

The presence of water inside the site has allowed the construction of a hydroelectric power plant.

Located in the Natural Regional Park of Sirente-Veal in the 90s the caves were incorporated into a tourism development project called "Tourist complex of Stiffe".

Within the caves it is possible to admire stalactites and stalagmites present in various " rooms" open and visitable to the public with an authorized guide.
